I have been a busy sewer bee lately. I bought some fabric from Purl Patchwork awhile back to make this:
Out of this print:
This is going to be a great bag for the park and beach. I customised the inside pockets to fit my cell, ipod and wallet. After a long hiatus, I finished the sewing early this morning. Thinking that I had the day off, but most places would be open, I walked up to Steinlouf & Stoller to have some grommets put in, only to find out they were closed. I then spent a better part of the day cruising the garment center trying to find a place that could put grommets in for me, while I waited, in the right size and color. I didn't think it would be so hard.
So here is my question. Should I forgo the grommets and just make small buttonholes for the straps? Or should I wait till the next time I will have a chance to get to S & S (which could be a really long time as they are only open M-F, (9-5)?

You can buy grommet kits and do them yourself - have you got a hammer?
I need to get some snaps. If you let me know what size etc you want, I could pick you some up - but I have no idea when I'll see you :oP
do the grommets! it'll be soooo cute.
I have a hammer if you want to DIY it up like Heather.
Or is there any way you can take it during lunch? There's gotta be somewhere that would do that on a weekend!!
Buttonholes! I'm all for instant gratification.
